ClipMill
Turn your chess streams into YouTube Shorts, ready to publish.
Open the Studio ClipMill is in a closed, invite-only beta.
ClipMill is a web app for chess content creators. Upload the recording of a stream and get vertical Shorts with corrected captions, titles, descriptions, tags and a thumbnail. Then publish them to your own YouTube channel, now or at a time you choose.
How it works
- Upload your stream. Upload a recording of your stream to ClipMill.
- We find the highlights. We transcribe the stream (see our Privacy Policy for who does this). Then we use AI to pick the best moments, fix the captions, and write titles, descriptions and tags.
- We render the Shorts. We cut vertical Shorts with captions, check their quality, and generate a thumbnail from your reference thumbnails and photos.
- You review and publish. Edit the title, description and privacy setting (public, unlisted or private), pick a thumbnail, and click Publish or set a time. Nothing is uploaded until you do.
Why ClipMill asks for access to YouTube
Connecting YouTube is optional. You only need it if you want ClipMill to publish for you. When you click Connect YouTube, Google asks you to grant two permissions:
- Manage your YouTube videos (youtube.upload): used only to upload the videos you choose to publish to your channel, with the title, description, privacy setting and schedule you chose, and to set the thumbnail you chose.
- View your YouTube account (youtube.readonly): used only to read your channel's name and ID, so the app shows you which channel your videos will go to, and to check the status of the videos uploaded through ClipMill.
ClipMill does not read your other videos, comments, subscribers or analytics. It does not show ads and does not sell your data. It does not use your Google data to train AI models. You can disconnect at any time in the app's YouTube settings, which revokes the access at Google, or on your Google account permissions page.
ClipMill's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
ClipMill works with YouTube. By publishing through ClipMill you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. ClipMill is not made or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Your data
Your files are stored on our servers in Germany. Uploaded stream recordings are deleted 30 days after processing. Your Shorts and thumbnails stay until you delete them. Read the details in our Privacy Policy.
